May-June 2017 Prayer Letter

Greetings from San Fernando, Trinidad! We have had a busy spring and are revving up for an even busier summer.

We just completed the term teaching Bible classes in the public schools. Two more students were saved, and the end-of-term exams led to a shuffling of students that allowed us to teach new groups of students for the last three weeks of the term. We praise the Lord for the opportunity and pray that the Word that was sown will bear fruit in their hearts.

The month of May was dedicated to canvassing nearby Princes Town 4 days each week in preparation for a crusade and church plant. The town was divided into quadrants, and canvassing was done in weekly rounds: first week, we put a gospel tract in each mailbox in our section. Second week, we attempted to speak to people at each house and left a different tract and a crusade flyer. We also gathered names, addresses and phone numbers for future contact. Third week, we continued contacting each home with Chick tracts and crusade flyers. Fourth week: transport-ing people to crusade!

Crusade was May 22-28 and the Lord blessed the good singing and powerful preaching. There were 173 visitors from Princes Town and the surrounding area; 64 saved, many rededications, and 48 people registered to attend Christian growth class each Tuesday evening. Attendance at these classes has been excellent; peo-ple are thrilled to have sound Bible teaching.

June is usually a relatively calm month, but we have had major challenges in the first weeks. Sylvie W., our dear friend, is awaiting surgery for Stage IV cancer, and one of our college and career young ladies, Kira R., lost her dad very suddenly earlier this week. Please take a mo-ment to pray for these ladies and their families.

We are still helping at Victory Baptist Church in Debe four to six times a month until their missionary pastor arrives from the United States. The people are very wel-coming. They appreciate Patty’s piano playing, our special music, and are very at-tentive to the Word of God. Ralph enjoys preaching there.

We hosted a Sunday luncheon for the col-lege and career young people, and were blessed to have 30 hungry guests! We pray that they will be obedient to the Word of God and sensitive to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, especially at this pivotal stage of their lives.

Coming in July and August: “Operation Saturation” to place John/Romans with a gospel tract in each house in San Fernando; VBS in San Fernando, Debe, and Princes Town; Teen Connection; Junior Camp; Senior Camp. We will also host groups of visitors from the US who will be helping with these ministries.
Brethren, pray for us! (2 Thess. 3:1)

For so hath the Lord
commanded us, saying,
I have set thee to be
a light of the Gentiles,
that thou shouldest be for
salvation unto
the ends of the earth.
